A Look Back at 2019

2019 went by faster than ever.

We started the year in Driggs, Idaho living like seasonal workers and ski bums. It was absolutely amazing to be able to ski (or snowboard!) every single day with like-minded people who were there for a good time.

However in early March, we made a very hasty decision to move to Salt Lake City when Nic got a job at Wildhorn Outfitters. While it was so tough to leave a job prematurely to move to a place that I wasn’t employed, it was one of the best decisions we could have ever made. Looking back at my post from March, when we first moved out to Utah, my predictions were better than I could have imagined.

Nic and I are both working in the outdoor industry.

We are lucky enough to have security that comes with 9-5 and 8-4 jobs, health insurance, 401Ks, and more.

We are living with some of our best friends.

We are living within 20 miles of even more friends.

We live close to so much family.

We are fortunate that our families can visit us often and vice versa.

We have an amazing apartment that allows us to house a long list of fun guests.

We have enough room to store all our outdoor gear.

We have grown our gear collection quite a bit thanks to the companies we work for.

We live close to activities we love to do.

We have spent time in the desert.

In the mountains.

We have had crazy adventurous days where we do 4 mile bike rides and 8 mile hikes before heading back home to hang out with friends before the weekend ended.

But we have also had days to recoup and binge-watch Netflix, Hulu and Disney Plus and eat nothing but popcorn and pancakes.

Now some things about me:

I have started practicing more creativity since my freshmen art classes.

I have completed many DIY projects including costumes, jackets, house decorations and holiday gifts.

I have published more than 50 blog posts on #nacforadventure.com.

I have combined my two sites in a complete blog about everything I am passionate about.

And I have got more than 3.5 times the amount of views on my website than 2018.

I have launched a store to share my creativity with the world.

And I have tried to live every day with a sense of gratitude as life around me happens.

While this year wasn’t as jammed pack with freedom to travel as 2018 , this life just keeps getting better and better. We don’t have much planned for 2020, but I can already tell it’s going to be filled with appreciation, adventure, and lots of love.

Your nacforadventurer saying goodbye to a great year,

AJ
