stitches in the wild - a short film about sewing in nature with seamstress and outdoor enthusiast AJ Cutler - woman sitting on a rock next to a sewing machine with grasses and shrubs around her

YouTube Video: Stitches In The Wild – A Sewing In Nature Short Film

In today’s YouTube, we combine two of my favorite things: Sewing and nature!

I grab my thread, scissors, and fabric and head into a fairy-esque forest to finish sewing an upcycled set. Using an old bedsheet, I transform the old material into a pair of pants, a hooded top, and a couple of accessories.

Upcycling has quickly become one of my favorite ways to practice creativity. I enjoy the process of taking something that already exists in order to give it a new life, often in the form of wearable art. I prioritize natural materials, like cotton and linen to create one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. And there’s no better place to stitch these pieces together than out amongst the trees, flowers, and bugs.

What should we make next?
