There are two sides of #nacforadventure:
Outdoor sports and adventure: all that skiing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, camping, traveling and more…
And then there’s the other side:
Sustainability, which corresponds with the impact that we as humans have on the natural world around us
These are some of Nic and I’s biggest values, so when we got married, we wanted to make sure to incorporate both of these themes into our wedding day.
We held the ceremony and reception outside, and all of our decorations were either made from natural materials or shopped secondhand. The flowers and other foliage were grown in our parents’ backyards and made into bouquets, boutonnieres, and table decorations.
And another big part of the wedding that I wanted to add my own touch of sustainability to?
My wedding dress
This would allow me to be responsible for any sort of waste that I incurred, as well as offer a personal experience of designing my very own creation.
The dress of my dreams was comprised of 5 different parts:
The skirt
The dress
The sleeves
The veil
And some final finishing touches
In this week’s video, I share the journey I took to create a piece that I am very proud of. It truly represented the person I am on such a beautiful day filled with family, friends, food, fun, and a just a touch of sustainability.
Your full-time nacforadventurer and part-time wedding dress maker,
